The Autodesk 2010 software portfolio for building information modelling (BIM) will help building designers, civil engineers, contractors and their clients profit from digital design and achieve better communication across extended project teams.
AutoCAD Civil 3D software, a powerful BIM solution for civil engineering, helps project teams explore transportation, land development and environmental projects digitally before they are built.
New functionality in the software includes design and analysis capabilities such as automated intersection design, which enables you to build interactive intersection models that dynamically update, so you can focus on optimising a design and know the production drawings and annotations will always stay up-to-date.
Other features include the extraction of material quantities from corridor models, or assigning material types to light-posts and landscaping. You can run reports, or utilise built-in pay item lists to generate bid-ready contract documents, enabling you to make better decisions about the cost of the project earlier in the design process with accurate quantity takeoff tools.
